Reflection of clouds on a calm body of water

Having previously trained in mentoring, in 2018 I received funding from Scottish Government for the charity I founded, SWAN, to run a year-long peer-mentoring pilot project. It was a brilliant experience and we all learned a lot!

SWAN has always been a peer-support venture. For 7 years we - I and some other autistic women - ran it voluntarily, as a space for autistic women to come together and to learn from and with each other, to add to the knowledge base around autism, women, girls, and NB people, to inform, and train others.

It has been such a joy over the years to witness the power of autistic people coming together to share lived experience, knowledge and wisdom - and humour, and compassion and understanding!
